Fabian Ruiz joins PSG from Napoli for a fee of €30m

(Football news) Manchester United are set to lose out on another target as Fabián Ruiz edges closer than ever to joining French Champions Paris Saint-Germain.The Spanish footballer has enjoyed an outstanding spell in Italy with Serie A side Napoli and now will be moving to a new challenge sooner than people expect. It was widely reported that Real Madrid were interested in Ruiz on a free transfer in 2023 but now the Spanish international has chosen to play for the French giants.

Manchester United were very keen on the player, but a move didn’t advance as they continued their pursuit of Frenkie de Jong. The Spanish footballer could have been a cheaper alternative to the Dutch international but again the club acted with no real conviction. According to Fabrizio Romano, Ruiz is now expected to join PSG as the two clubs get ready to complete the final details of the transfer. He said in a tweet “Paris Saint-Germain have full agreement on personal terms with Fabián Ruiz. It's a matter of final details with Napoli then the deal will be done. Luis Campos anticipates Real Madrid wanting him for free in 2023.”

The 26-year-old would be a perfect replacement for the departing players like Ander Hererra, Idrissa Gueye and Leandro Paredes. His performances in big games would help PSG considering the lack of talent the club currently have in his position. The negotiations between PSG and Ruiz were speedy because Real Madrid reportedly sped up their interest in the player. Now the Spanish giants and United will both miss out on such a versatile player with the French giants signing yet another midfielder as they have already signed Renato Sanches and Vitinha. As for the Red Devils they are still searching for a midfielder in the transfer window as they enter the final weeks with the De Jong saga still ongoing.
