Bayer Leverkusen agree a loan deal with Chelsea for Callum Hudson Odoi

(Football news) Callum Hudson-Odoi is set to join Bayer Leverkusen after the two teams managed to agree terms over a season-long loan, which  involves just a loan and no buy purchase. The move was in danger of collapsing due to a disagreement over these considerations, with Leverkusen hesitant on including a buy-option and Chelsea not wanting to lose Hudson-Odoi as of now. Apparently Callum and his agents managed to convince Bayer to drop their demand for one and thus they came to an agreement over a one year loan.

The 21-year-old has gone onto score 16 goals and provided 22 assists in 126 appearances for Chelsea, but he has always found himself out of favour under Thomas Tuchel. Hudson-Odoi was subsequently left out of the squad for the season opener against Everton and has been an unused substitute in Chelsea's last three Premier League matches. With playing time proving to be at a premium for the young Englishman, the Blues seem to allow the wideman to leave the club, as they hope Hudson Odoi flourishes in the Bundesliga and finally fulfil his potential.

The Englishman is set to fly out to Germany to undergo medical where he will join the German side that claimed their first win of the season at the weekend with a 3-0 victory away to Mainz 05. Meanwhile another Chelsea player Hakim Ziyech could be getting closer to his expected departure as Manchester United have signed Antony now, and Ajax will hopefully replace him with Ziyech. Ajax now have the money to overcome the seemingly massive gap in valuation as they got a fee of €100m from United.
