Aurélien Tchouaméni chooses Real Madrid as his next club

(Football news) According to multiple reliable reports, AS Monaco midfielder Aurélien Tchouameni has chosen Real Madrid as his next club. PSG were also interested in the Frenchman but the player rejected a move. Liverpool and Real Madrid were the final two clubs in the race but it looks like Los Blancos have secured this signature. After what happened with Kylian Mbappe, it is pretty clear that until there is an official announcement, nothing can be considered done.

Initially when Real Madrid assumed that Mbappe was going to come they didn't want to sign a midfielder but now things have changed. The Los Blancos want to make use of the money they saved from the failed signing. Monaco are asking for around €80 million which Madrid will definitely attempt to reduce. The reported duration of the contract will be 5 years. At the age of 22, Tchouaméni is already considered as one of the most talented midfielders in the world and it is no secret that the current Real Madrid midfield is aging. A midfield of Aurélien Tchouaméni, Eduardo Camavinga and Fede Valverde has a potential to be at the core of the Real Madrid team for years to come.

Aurélien Tchouaméni is a perfect back-up and eventual heir for Casemiro. His energy and ability off the ball makes him perfect traditional number 6. Initially, the biggest challenge for him is going to be getting into the starting line-up ahead of Casemiro, who is the best in the world in his position. Real Madrid are losing two midfielders in Isco and Dani Ceballos which opens up a spot for Tchouaméni. On top of that Los Blancos do not have a direct replacement for Casemiro which gives the Frenchman a clear opening to get game time. The deal will cost Real Madrid a significant amount of money but it is definitely one that will benefit their future.
