Women’s World Cup: India take on winless England in important clash

(Cricket news) After their comfortable 155 run win over the West Indies, India will take on England. The women in blue are 3rd on the points table and will be looking to consolidate their position in the top 4. England on the other hand are yet to open their account, having lost all 3 of their games so far.

India's Possible Playing XI:

Smriti Mandhana, Yastika Bhatia, Mithali Raj(c), Harmanpreet Kaur, Richa Ghosh (wk), Deepti Sharma, Sneh Rana, Pooja Vastrakar, Meghna Singh, Jhulan Goswami, Rajeshwari Gayakwad

Bench: Shafali Verma, Poonam Yadav, Taniya Bhatia, Renuka Singh

India have no reason to make a change in their line-up. Yastika Bhatia's aggressive batting at the top set the tone for India in the last game. Deepti Sharma has been a bit underwhelming so far but a player like her is always on the cusp of match winning performance. It will be interesting to see where Mithali Raj bats as she came out at number 3 after a long time in the last game and failed to get going.

England Possible Playing XI:

Tammy Beaumont, Danielle Wyatt, Heather Knight (c), Natalie Sciver, Amy Ellen Jones (wk), Sophia Dunkley, Katherine Brunt, Sophie Ecclestone, Kate Cross, Charlotte Dean, Anya Shrubsole

Bench:
Natasha Farrant, Emma Lamb, Freya Davies, Lauren Winfield-Hill

Team selection isn't the reason why England are underperforming in this tournament. The big Ashes loss may have something to do with the mindset of these players but the quality is still there. The bowling unit has to be a lot better. Katherine Brunt is a player who has troubled India a lot in the past and her team will be hoping that she does the same tomorrow.

Form wise,  India are looking like the favourites but England have a great head to head record against this Indian side. The match in the 2017 World Cup will still be on the minds of the Indians and this win will be a good way to avenge that loss as it may completely finish England's chances of qualification.
