Umran Malik fires SRH to 4th consecutive win as they defeat PBKS

(Cricket news) Sunrisers Hyderabad registered their 4th consecutive win of the season. SRH defeated Punjab Kings by 7 wickets with 7 balls to spare. PBKS were led by Shikhar Dhawan as Mayank Agarwal was ruled out with a toe injury, he was replaced in the line-up by Prabhsimran Singh. SRH on the other hand were unchanged.

Batting first PBKS could only manage to put 151 runs on the board. Liam Livingston scored 60 off just 33 balls including 5 fours and 4 sixes. The all-rounder displayed some dynamic batting with his power strokes, elegance and also 360° shots. No other PBKS batter managed to play a big knock as Shahrukh Khan was the only other batter to cross the 20 run mark. Bhuvneshwar Kumar continued his good form as he picked up 3 wickets while T Natarajan and Jagadeesha Suchit got a scalp each. Umran Malik was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up 4 wickets for just 28 runs. His pace was too much for the Punjab batters to handle. After picking up a wicket in his first over he bowled a maiden last over in which he picked up 3 wickets and the last ball resulted in a run-out.

SRH chased down 152 runs comfortably thanks to cameos by Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markaram and Nicholas Pooran. Sharma's good form continued as he scored 31 off 25 balls as did Tripathi with a 22 ball 34. Pooran scored unbeaten 35 off 30 balls while Markaram was unbeaten at 41 off 27 balls. Rahul Chahar got two wickets while Kagiso Rabada got a scalp. PBKS at the end of the day just didn't have enough runs on the board. Hyderabad are starting to look like a complete squad with in-form players despite losing their first two games.

PBKS will be hoping to get skipper Mayank Agarwal back for their next game. Umran Malik well and truly stole the show and has guided all of the world's eyes on himself. He still may have to work on his consistency, control and variations but his performances till now at the mere age of 22 have been impressive. Once Washington Sundar returns from injury he will only improve this side. Aiden Markaram's return to form is also great news for the Orange army who have shown a lot of faith in him.
