South Africa seal the series after beating England in the 3rd T20I

(Cricket news) For the first time since 2013, England will end their home summer without winning a white-ball trophy. They lost both the ODI and T20I series to India and now have shared the ODI series with South Africa as they beat them 2-1 in the T20I series after cruising past England they handed them a big defeat in decider in Southampton. England's batting was in the spotlight after they were asked to chase the highest successful target at the Ageas Bowl in all T20s and subsequently fell far short as they lost 10 wickets for 73 between the fourth and 17th over. This was South Africa's second-biggest win after their 130-run victory over Scotland in 2009. It is also South Africa's first T20I series win in England and first white-ball series trophy in the country since 1998.

South Africa defended skilfully, none of their bowlers conceded more than six runs an over and Tabraiz Shamsi picked his career best figures of 5 for 24 but their win was built on a big total they had earlier set thanks to Reeza Hendricks’ third fifty in a row. They had a strong powerplay as they were 53 for 1 after six overs but through the middle overs they scored only 84 runs in 10 overs before a flourish at the end. David Miller, in what was his 100th T20I for South Africa led the late charge when they scored 64 runs in the final five overs and shared in a 41-run fourth-wicket stand in 23 balls, with Aiden Markram. South Africa's only six came in the 18th over which showed the testament of their ability to make use of a large outfield to find ones and twos as they hit 25 fours in the first innings

In his first appearance, Markram scored his seventh T20I fifty after Reeza Hendricks brought up his 10th, and third successive half-century in this series. Hendricks finished with 180 runs as he was leading run-scorer in the series, with an average of 60.00. After a wicket-less in his first match at Bristol, Shamsi was the leading wicket-taker with 8 dismissals. Their 90-run triumph was their second biggest in T20I history and equals India's win in Colombo in September 2012 as England's heaviest defeat. England only made 101 runs as no other batsman other than Bairstow scored over 20 runs. The South African bowlers kept a lid on the scoring as England could only get 39 in the powerplay as the match was virtually over when Shamsi bagged his first wicket, leaving England at 65/5 in the 12th over after that Shamsi made easy work of the lower order.

South Africa 191 for 5 (Hendricks 70, Markram 51*, Willey 3-25) beat England 101 (Bairstow 27, Shamsi 5-24) by 90 runs
