Ross ‘tailors’ another milestone, completes 300 list A appearances

According to a press release by New Zealand Cricket, Blackcaps and Central Stag batsman Ross Taylor completed his 300th list A appearance on Sunday at Eden Park Outer Oval, becoming one of very few New Zealand cricketers to achieve this milestone of playing 300 List A one-day matches in a career.
The 36 year old, unorthodox right handed batter made his domestic debut in the 2002-03 season. His skill set and reliable performances paved the way for his national selection in 2006 for a home ODI series against Sri Lanka.
There was no looking back for the stylish batter then as he went on to play 105 tests and 232 ODIs for the black caps, scoring 7380 and 8569 runs respectively, averaging 45.28 in tests and 48.41 in ODIs. He has 19 test hundreds along with 21 ODI hundreds under his belt.
The clean hitter of both pace and spin, Taylor is the leading run getter for New Zealand in Test and ODI cricket. He also became the first cricketer to play 100 international matches across all three formats.
In December 2020, Taylor became the most capped cricketer for New Zealand during the first test against Pakistan, representing the Kiwi side in 438th match in all three formats, surpassing the New Zealand legend and former skipper Daniel Vittori.
