Preview: India aim to level series against an in-form Australia at 2nd W-ODI

(Cricket news) India and Australia are all set to play the 2nd W-ODI at Harrup Park in Queensland. Australia outclassed India in the 1st W-ODI, winning by 9 wickets. Australia come into the game with a 25 consecutive winning streak in W-ODIs. It will take a mighty performance by team India to beat this Australian side in their own backyard.

Possible playing XI

India: Smriti Mandhana, Shefali Verma,Yastika Bhatia, Mithali Raj (C), Harmanpreet Kaur, Deepti Sharma, Richa Ghosh (WK), Shikha Pandey, Sneh Rana, Jhulan Goswami, Poonam Yadav.

Vice captain Harmanpreet Kaur missed the first game due to a thumb injury but she should be back in the side. India clearly missed some experience in their bowling line-up so Shikha Pandey and Radha Yadav's inclusion would be very crucial.

Australia: Alyssa Healy (wk), Rachael Haynes, Meg Lanning (c), Ellyse Perry, Beth Mooney, Ashleigh Gardner, Tahlia McGrath, Sophie Molineux, Georgia Wareham, Hannah Darlington, Darcie Brown

The Aussies have no reason to change their line-up after a perfect performance in the 1st game. The game will be played on the same ground so the team combination should remain pretty much the same. There is no official news on any injuries so it is very likely that Australia go into the match unchanged.

India will have to stitch more long partnerships together to get a better score. The bowling was nowhere near as good from the Indians. The match and the series is very crucial considering the 2022 World Cup in New Zealand is just around the corner.
