Melbourne Renegades Sign Harvey, Evans and Fraser-McGurk for two more BBL seasons

As per a press release by Melbourne Renegades, the Australian Big Bash club has roped in talented youngsters like Mackenzie Harvey, Zak Evans and Jake Fraser-McGurk. Twenty year old Harvey, has signed a two-year deal with the club till the end of BBL|12. Evans, 20, and Fraser-McGurk, 18, were already signed for BBL|11 but the duo has also agreed to an additional season, also until the end of BBL|12. “All three of these young players showed their talent with match-winning performances at various points last season,” Melbourne Renegades List Manager Andrew Lynch said. “To have this young talent on our list alongside our established core provides a nice balance for our incoming coach.” Harvey was adjudged Man of the Match after his match winning innings of 47 off just 21 deliveries in the Renegades victory against the Melbourne Stars in January. He was also a member of the club’s title winning team in BBL|08. “I’ve loved my time at the club since I joined a few years ago,” Harvey said. Fraser-McGurk had scored an unbeaten 29 in a match winning 68 run stand with Mohammad Nabi during the Renegades win against the Strikers last season, while Zak Evans impressed everyone with his 5-33 against the Hobart Hurricanes. Renegades General Manager David Lever said that the latest signings are a crucial part of the club’s strategy. “We’re committed to attracting, retaining and developing the best young Victorian talent,” he said. “This group, together with players like Will Sutherland and Mitch Perry, give our members and fans so much to look forward to in the next few years as they really start to establish themselves in the BBL.”
