(Cricket news) Jasprit Bumrah on Monday registered the best bowling figures of the season as he dismantled Kolkata Knight Riders by picking up 5/10. Unfortunately for him, Mumbai Indians couldn't chase down the target of 166 and ended up losing by 52 runs. Mumbai Indians are already out of contention for the playoff places but Bumrah's performance was long overdue and is a big positive for the Indian team. The spell was also the 4th best bowling figures in the history of the IPL.

One of the biggest worries during this edition of the IPL is the performance of some of the stalwarts of Indian cricket. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are really struggling with the bat this season which is definitely worrying. Rishabh Pant is not having a great season either while the biggest disappointment has been Ravindra Jadeja. MS Dhoni handed the captaincy to Ravindra Jadeja but after a disastrous start, Jadeja resigned as the skipper. The all-rounders personal performance was getting affected and it hasn't been great this season.

Jasprit Bumrah is India's strike bowler but this season, he has struggled a little. Mumbai's bowling attack hasn't been great which is why opposition players have been extra cautious of Jasprit Bumrah. The seamer has failed to get many wickets but hasn't leaked runs. Now that he is back among the wickets it is incredible news for the Indian side who are heavily reliant on him. Bumrah is likely to be rested for the next white ball series at the very least to keep him fresh for what is going to be a hectic end to the season. Bumrah's form is very crucial for the Indian side and it will be disastrous if the pacer loses his confidence.
