Jadeja and Bumrah set to return as India take on Hasaranga-less Sri Lanka

(Cricket news) After inflicting a whitewash on the West Indies, India will take on Sri Lanka for another 3 T20Is. The series will be India's last before the IPL so a lot of things will have to fall to perspective as there could be a few changes in the squad after the IPL.

India's possible playing XI:

Rohit Sharma, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, Venkatesh Iyer, Deepak Hooda, Ravindra Jadeja, Harshal Patel, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuzvendra Chahal.

Bench: Sanju Samson, Ravi Bishnoi, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, Avesh Khan

The top six is tough to predict, especially in the correct order. Everyone apart from Gaikwad, Kishan and Hooda are almost certainly going to play. Rohit Sharma has mentioned that Samson is someone he wants to give chances to but that might not happen in the 1st T20I.  Bumrah and Jadeja's return to the side is a big positive for the team.

Sri Lanka possible playing XI:

Pathum Nissanka, Danushka Gunathilaka, Charith Asalanka, Janith Liyanage, Dinesh Chandimal (wk), Dasun Shanaka (c), Chamika Karunaratne, Jeffrey Vandersay, Praveen Jayawickrama, Dushmantha Chameera, Lahiru Kumara

Bench: Kamil Mishara, Janith Liyanage, Ashian Daniel, Shiran Fernando, Binura Fernando

Wanindu Hasaranga hasn't recovered from Covid yet and is likely to miss the entire T20I series. The all-rounder will be a massive miss and his absence swings things massively in India's favour. Chameera will be a very key bowler who has the ability to trouble the Indian batters. Batting wise a lot will depend on Charith Asalanka.

It goes without saying that India will have one eye on the World Cup later this year. India would like to end this international season on a high. Their next series after this will be against South Africa in June.
