IPL: Delhi Capitals take on Chennai Super Kings in match no. 50

(Cricket news) Delhi and Chennai both have been in excellent form and could well be the favourites for this year's IPL trophy. Chennai after their first loss in the second leg of the IPL will look to consolidate their top two position with a win. On the other hand Delhi too sealed their place in the playoffs by beating Mumbai and will be eyeing their maiden IPL title.

CSK have found a hidden gem in Ruturaj Gaikwad who has been a revelation for CSK this season so much so that Suresh Raina plays a completely different role in the team. CSK success this season has been the left-right middle order combination which allows them to be aggressive in the middle overs. CSK will again rely on Josh Hazlewood and Dwayne Bravo to pick up the majority of wickets up front as well as in the death overs. Ravinder Jadeja has been the key for CSK in the second leg with bat and also with bowl, he’ll again be the key to CSK’s success if they win the match.

DC will again be without Marcus Stoinis for the third straight match. Delhi might give opportunities to the likes of Umesh Yadav and Amit Mishra to give some valuable playing to the so called benchwarmers. Avesh Khan this season has been a game changer for the Delhi side picking up 21 wickets at an average of 15.00. In this match Ashwin and Axar will be key to restrict the opening batsmans as they tend to play the spinners very tentatively.

Head to head: CSK 15 – 9 DC , the last time they played Delhi won by seven wickets as Shikhar Dhawan scored 85(54).

Pitch and Weather report: The pitch is set to be used for the second time in as many days. If yesterday's game gave any indication then the influence of the spinners will be massive. The batting will be difficult as the captains would prefer to chase on this venue. The temperature will be around 34 degrees as there could be chances of dew in the second innings. As of now there is no chance of rain.
