India look to get revenge on New Zealand in the 2nd Women’s CWC game

(Cricket news) After a big win over Pakistan, India will take on host's New Zealand. A win could take India to the top of the table. The fitness of Pooja Vastrakar was a concern after the match against Pakistan but reports suggest that she is fully fit and ready to take the field which is incredible news for the women in blue.

India's possible playing XI:

Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Mithali Raj(c), Harmanpreet Kaur, Richa Ghosh (wk), Deepti Sharma, Sneh Rana, Pooja Vastrakar, Meghna Singh, Jhulan Goswami, Rajeshwari Gayakwad

Bench: Poonam Yadav, Taniya Bhatia, Yastika Bhatia, Renuka Singh

Even though the top order batting was very poor in the last match, no change is needed in the side. One of Harmanpreet, Smriti and Mithali needs to play a big innings in this game. The two teams just played 5 matches out of which India only won 1. This one however is the one that matters and India will have a full strength side which they didn't have in those matches. Shafali Verma hasn't played a good knock in a while but her presence is still important in this team.

New Zealand's possible playing XI:

Sophie Devine (c), Suzie Bates, Amelia Kerr, Amy Satterthwaite, Maddy Green, Frances Mackay, Katey Martin (wk), Hayley Jensen, Lea Tahuhu, Jess Kerr, Hannah Rowe

Bench: Brooke Halliday, Fran Jonas, Rosemary Mair, Georgia Plimmer

After losing the first game against West Indies, New Zealand made two changes for the match against Bangladesh. The win in that match should be enough for the white ferns to retain the same side. The Kerr sisters had an incredible series against India and will be crucial once again.

Weather and Pitch report:

The weather is expected to be nice and sunny throughout the match. The first game at Hamilton in this World Cup was a high scoring one as Australia scored 310 runs while England fell just 12 runs short. The captain that wins the toss will definitely look to bat first as it is a good pitch to bat on. 300 looks like a par score on this pitch but the bowlers will have to work very hard regardless.

From India's point of view a win against the hosts that just beat them 4-1 a few weeks ago would be a massive boost to their confidence. New Zealand will have the advantage of being the hosts but will also have that added pressure. Indian bowlers weren't tested at all in the first game and the kiwi batters will certainly Test them.
