(Cricket news) England Women progressed to the top four standings in the ICC Women’s World Cup with a dominant nine wicket victory over Pakistan in Christchurch. Katherine Brunt showcased impressive figures of 3-17 and she dismissed Nahida Khan in the first ball of the innings.
England's seamers and Sophie Ecclestone (3-18) kept chipping away, aided by two run-outs, as Pakistan were bowled out for 105. Danni Wyatt raced to 76 to see England home inside 20 overs and with it boosted their run-rate to overtake India in the table. Victory over Bangladesh in England's final group game would guarantee a semi-final berth.
