Chennai, Feb 9 (PTI) England closed in on victory in the first Test by reducing India to 144 for six at lunch on the final day of the series-opener here on Tuesday. Jimmy Anderson (3/8) dismissed Shubman Gill (50), Ajinkya Rahane (0) and Rishabh Pant (11) in quick succession to tilt the game in the favour of the visitors. India skipper Virat Kohli (45 batting) was left with an onerous job of saving the game which looks improbable. Chasing a daunting 420-run target, India resumed at 39 for one.
