(Cricket news) Hosting JioCinema’s daily sports show ‘#AAKASHVANI,’ Aakash Chopra explained why Ishan Kishan is special and deserved the World Cup selection. “Ishan Kishan doesn’t get many opportunities, but when he does, there’s pressure on him.

Ishan has scored a double century, and even after that, we don’t see him getting many chances, which is a fact because he wasn’t included in the very next series after his double century. Where Ishan will bat in this team is a separate issue, dependent on various circumstances but he has understood the pulse of the ODI format.”

Chopra further explained how the Indian team will build their mindset as they get into the World Cup mode.  “Somewhere in the tournament, an atmosphere is created where you start looking after each other, and there is a quiet confidence, a belief that we will do it, we will win. It quietly builds up, I mean, no one has a magic wand to make it happen, but it happens. So I feel that when the Indian team starts playing in the World Cup, that atmosphere will be created.”

Looking forward to the Bangladesh-Pakistan clash in Asia Cup, Chopra said. “A good match is expected because it’s being played in Lahore, which usually helps the batsmen. There is a lot of doubt around Litton Das’ availability but if he becomes available, he should play in the Bangladesh top order as there are issues to address there.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz was even tried as an opener, and he scored a century. Shanto is in good form, but Shakib, the batter, hasn’t performed well yet, Chopra qouted. Bangladesh is a strong team, especially on this ground, where they recently played and won convincingly against Afghanistan, Chopra added. Pakistan, on the other hand, are having issues with their opening batsmen not scoring runs. We hope they can perform on Lahore’s pitch. It will also be interesting to see how Shaheen Shah Afridi performs with the ball”, Chopra concluded.
