Beatriz Ferreira announced as the Ambassador of AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships

According to a press release by AIBA, Beatriz Ferreira, Brazil’s defending AIBA Women’s World Champion was announced the Ambassador for the upcoming AIBA Youth Men’s and Women’s World Boxing Championships which is scheduled to be held in Kielce, Poland on April 13-23. The star Brazilian is the elite lightweight (60kg) boxing superstar. Ferreira is also one of the best female boxers in the world having lost only five games during her whole career. ‘When I received the invitation from AIBA to be the Ambassador of the Youth World Boxing Championships, I was very happy and honored. It’s a remarkable tournament for all athletes who compete in it. AIBA, thank you very much! It is very good to know that I am a role model for the young ones who are starting their path – this is the first big step for them! Today they are participating in the AIBA Youth World Boxing Championships and soon they become elite,’ Ferreira said. ‘I wish the best of luck to everyone who participates in the Championships. I believe there will be great fights. I want to say something to all athletes. Give it your best, have fun and make a great show for everyone! Represent your country well. I will be watching and cheering, especially, for the Brazilian team. Make the best of it, it’s a unique moment. I wish a great Championships to all!’ she concluded. Born on the 9th of December 1992, Beatriz Iasmin Ferreira started her boxing career at the age of 18 after she switched from wrestling. The 162cm tall boxer idolizes the US legend, Muhammad Ali, and trains 22 hours a week to acheive her main goals at the upcoming events. The Brazilian entered into the world boxing life four years back when she bagged the gold medal at the Belgrade Winner Tournament in 2017. After her maiden international win in Serbia, she tasted success at the AMBC American Confederation Women’s Boxing Championships at Honduras in June 2017 after defeating Canada’s Panamerican Games winner Caroline Veyre during the final. Ferreira’s crucial international stint of the 2019 year was the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships held at Ulan-Ude, Russia. The Brazilian had five bouts at the event and carried on to her brilliant winning ways, triumphing over all of her opponents. One of her important contests was at the quarter-final against Russia’s Natalia Shadrina and after that highly impressive game, Ferreira won against United States’ Rashida Ellis and China’s Wang Cong in the final legs of the World Championships. Brazil sent its best side to the Cologne Boxing World Cup in Germany which was held during March 10-14. Brazil’s defending AIBA Women’s World Champion defeating Netherlands’ Husniye Calisir in the quarter-final game and from there on, Germany’s Gina Spranger and Croatia’s Marija Malenica were unable to put a halt at the Brazilian star’s campaign as she went on to win gold at the event.
