Bernardo Silva revealed his ties to Paris in an interview with a source prior to the eagerly awaited match between PSG and Manchester City, revealing talks about a possible transfer in 2023.
Given his significance to manager Pep Guardiola, he appears destined to stay at Manchester City until at least the end of his contract in 2026, if not longer. However, in the summer of 2023, the 30-year-old midfielder came dangerously close to quitting the Premier League. The Portuguese international was being courted by both PSG and FC Barcelona at the moment, which made Silva think about his future.
“Campos Luis? “I’m friends with him,” Silva remarked. He admitted to getting a call from Campos at the time, but he finally chose not to make the move, in an open interview: “The call from Luis Campos? He’s a friend. He has been a pleasure to deal with professionally. He was really helpful to me while I was in Monaco. We speak frequently. Yes, we did have a talk. But I was content at City. I have won titles and the Champions League thanks to this team. I felt good. This place makes me very happy.”
Notwithstanding persistent speculations that surfaced across multiple transfer windows, PSG has not made another attempt to sign Silva since he decided to remain at City.
