Barcelona Player Vomits Blood After Heavy Hit

During Saturday’s La Liga match against Las Palmas at Montjuic, FC Barcelona player Alejandro Balde was taken off on a stretcher after appearing to vomit blood.

The left rear Balde has recently returned to the starting lineup after missing time due to an injury.

Both a 3-0 Champions League victory over Brest on Tuesday and a 2-2 La Liga draw against Celta Vigo on Saturday saw Gerard Martin take his place on the defensive line.

Head coach Hansi Flick made a suggestion that Balde might make a comeback this weekend before to the latter match.

We decided to give Balde some rest because he was experiencing some muscle issues. He is doing better today, but I’m hoping he’ll be available for the games after Brest. At a pregame press conference on Monday, Flick made a statement regarding the Brest match the following day: “He won’t be there tomorrow.”

Gerard Martin, who assisted in a better performance, was selected for Brest before Hector Fort.

However, Balde did make a comeback to the starting lineup on Saturday. However, his afternoon was cut short when former Barcelona forward Sandro Ramirez delivered a vicious shoulder hit to the neck or throat.

Balde needed medical assistance after falling on the ground. He appeared to be spewing blood in several stills posted on X, the former name for Twitter.

Balde attempted to stand but passed out and had to be carried off on a stretcher.

Balde was substituted by Gerard Martin in the 26th minute with the score still tied at 0-0, as it was at halftime before Las Palmas scored shortly after the break, as the home crowd cheered his name as he departed the field on a gurney.

There was no information available at the time of publication regarding the severity of Balde’s possible injury or whether he will be sidelined once more.

However, Flick and Culers will be hoping that it won’t be a barrier to Balde’s ability to go to Mallorca for Tuesday’s away match in the top tier.
