Vikash Krishnan loses his opening bout in Tokyo

(Boxing News) Olympic 2021 Live Update: Vikash Krishnan has lost his first match to Okazawa Sewonrets Quincy Mensah of Japan in the Men’s Welter 63-69kg Boxing at the Tokyo Olympics. He lost 5-0,the 29 year old had reached Pre Quarters in the London 2012 Olympics and Quarter Finals in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics.

The Indian team will have to wait a little longer for an Olympic medal as there are few others who will fight it out for a podium finish.

At the end of the second round he started bleeding from his right eye and needed treatment.Vikash couldn’t really trouble Okazawa as he came up short in three rounds, after the second round a knockout was the only choice he had but failed to do it. He still has his chances at the next Olympics and will look to learn from Tokyo.
