Sydney Sixers announce BBL team of the Decade

According to a press release by Sydney Sixers, the club has named their Big Bash League Team of the Decade. Fans of the three time BBL champions Sydney Sixers selected their Team of the Decade to commemorate 10 years of league success and current captain and Aussie star all rounder Moises Henriques led the voting. The fan-voted campaign that was held online during the course of BBL|10 had around 5000 teams submitted, with Henriques having a place in 98.6% of the line ups. After Henriques, the next most voted selections were BBL|01 winning skipper Steve Smith, legendary pacer Brett Lee, this season’s Player of the Tournament Josh Philippe and star seamer Mitch Starc. Openers Daniel Hughes and Philippe, Henriques, all-rounder Sean Abbott, Jordan Silk, three-time BBL winner Steve O’Keefe alongside this year’s Player of the Final James Vince were selected from the Sixers’ BBL|10 winning squad. Ex Aussie wicket-keeper Brad Haddin was chosen to bat at number six, whereas England’s Tom Curran was picked for his all-round contribution and picked to bat at seven. Vince and spinner Nathan Lyon were chosen as X-Factor players.
