Real Madrid host Mallorca; Atlético Madrid and Barcelona face tricky away challenges on Matchweek 6

(Football news) La Liga is off to a great start this season and Real Madrid are flying. Los Blancos were reunited with Carlo Ancelotti this season and the Italian manager has got the team to play with an attacking intent which had been missing for the past two seasons. FC Barcelona on the other hand are struggling. Although they are still undefeated in the league they don't look like a team who could challenge for the title. Atletico Madrid have already drawn two matches but the defending champions cannot be ruled out just yet.

Real Madrid scored two late goals against Valencia at Mestalla to win 2-1. They now host  Mallorca in a game they need to assert their dominance and make a statement. Madrid have won 4 and drawn 2 in the League this season as they sit on top but all the victories have been hard fought. Real Madrid haven't had a game where they have got a comfortable win yet and Mallorca at home is just the perfect scenario.

Newly promoted Mallorca are currently 9th on the table and have started the campaign well. Los Blancos cannot treat Mallorca as a stepping stone but Ancelotti will expect his team to convincingly win the game. Real Madrid are in the middle of a jam packed schedule so there might be a few changes in the squad. Marcelo might return to full fitness while Toni Kroos, Gareth Bale and Dani Ceballos are still out of contention.

Atletico Madrid take on their neighbours Getafe. The Rojiblancos come into the game after two disappointing goalless draws against Porto and Athletic Club. Diego Simeone's men have had a bumpy start to the campaign having drawn 2 games already. The Madrid side haven't managed to replicate their form from last season so far. Getafe on the other hand have lost all their matches this season as they sit 19th on the La Liga table. Atletico Madrid are expected to win this match comfortably but Getafe need to get a result from this game to get their campaign back on track.

Barcelona travel to Cadiz after a disappointing week where they lost 3-0 against Bayern Munich and drew 1-1 against Granada, both on their home turf. The Blaugrana are in a rebuilding stage after the departure of Lionel Messi but their form has been worse than anybody expected. Barcelona sit 7th on the table and things aren't looking good for the Catalans. The injury crisis doesn't help as Ansu Fati, Martin Braithwaite, Pedri, Sergio Aguero, Ousmane Dembélé and Jordi Alba are all injured and won't be available for selection. Ronald Koeman needs to overcome 13th placed Cadiz to have any hope of keeping his job.
