He single handedly shifted the momentum on KKR's side to pose a major threat on CSK's intentions but Dhoni & Co. pulled up a major comeback to dismiss the entire KKR team at 202 and sealed the thrilling contest by 18 runs in the final over.

Invited to bat first, CSK were off to a rocking start courtesy of their openers Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad's exhilarating half-centuries. While CSK fans were delighted to see Gaikwad back in the form with 64 runs off 42 balls that featured some beautiful strokes, Du Plessis slammed the match winning 95 runs off 60 balls bedecked with six fours and four sixes.

The openers along with other significant knocks from Moeen Ali (25 off 12) and MS Dhoni (17 off 8) guided the yellow army to a mammoth total of 220 runs from their 20 overs.
