India looking heavy favourites going into the final game at rainy Manchester

(Cricket news) India won the 4th Test at the Oval to go 2-1 up in the series. Old Trafford in Manchester will host the 5th and final Test. England can only manage to draw the series but that in itself would be a big ask.

Both of India's wins have come on the 5th day after a close encounter. England's win on the other hand was a big innings defeat for India, but India have without question looked the better side in these 4 Tests. India may have sealed this series 3-1 by now if rain hadn't washed out day 5 of the 1st Test. If England do manage to win the last Test it will be considered India's failure.

Possible playing XIs-

England: Rory Burns, Haseeb Hameed, David Malan, Joe Root, Ollie Pope, Jonny Bairstow, Jos Buttler, Chris Woakes, Ollie Robinson, Jack Leach, James Anderson.

Jack Leach and Jos Buttler have been added to the squad which is a strong indication that both of them will be a part of the playing XI. Mark Wood's return to the team seems unlikely given the comeback of Leach and the excellent performance of Chris Woakes.

India: KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli, Hanuma Vihari, Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja, Shardul Thakur, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma.

Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj might be rested having played all 4 matches so far. Ajinkya Rahane might have run out of opportunities and could be dropped to finally give Hanuma Vihari a chance. Ashwin's selection looks more and more unlikely considering the fact that Old Trafford will not support spin more than the Oval did.

Player to watch: Virat Kohli

The Indian captain has got a couple of half centuries in the series so far. Kohli has looked very good when he has got going but hasn't been able to convert. This match could be the one for Virat Kohli. He couldn't think of a better way to end the tour. The skipper will have to be more patient and keep going once he gets settled at the crease.
