According to a press release by Extreme E, the off road racing championship has announced that Allianz will be their Official Insurance and Founding Partner ahead of their inaugural race in AlUla, Saudi Arabia on 3-4 April. Allianz has already collaborated with the ABB FIA Formula E Championship and FIM MotoE World Cup and this partnership with Extreme E will extend Allianz’s presence in electric motorsport. The world’s leading insurance and asset management company will provide Extreme E with joint insurance cover and focus it’s activations on select races starting with the first race in Saudi Arabia. Alejandro Agag, Founder and CEO of Extreme E, said: “Allianz is a brand with a long motorsport history and I’m incredibly proud to again be partnering with them on a new electrifying project. Allianz supports and shows a real interest for sustainable motorsport and shares many values similar to our own, including courage and confidence which you will see plenty from the Extreme E drivers at our first event in Saudi Arabia this weekend.” Hector Muelas, Global Brand & Customer Experience Officer of Allianz, said: “We are proud to support Extreme E on their ambitious path, highlighting the impact of climate change and showing care for our environment by executing the legacy projects in affected areas. Together we want to shape the future of electric mobility and enable the usage of clean technologies as part of the Allianz long-term sustainability agenda.” Extreme E is an electric off-road racing series with the aim to highlight the effects of climate change and promote the use of electric vehicles by racing in some of the most extreme locations around the world. Following their inaugural race in AlUla, Saudi Arabia on 3-4 April, the off-road championship will visit Lac Rose in Senegal on 29-30 May, Kangerlussuaq, Greenland (28-29 August), Pará, Brazil (23-24 October) and Tierra del Fuego, Argentina (11-12 December).
