(Cricket News) Arjun Tendulkar, the immensely talented son of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, has earned a well-deserved spot in the South Zone squad for the highly anticipated Deodhar Trophy inter-zonal 50-over competition. Led by Mayank Agarwal, the team will showcase their skills in Puducherry starting from July 24.
The selection committee for the South Zone took careful note of the exceptional performances delivered by top players from each state within the region. While a few players, including B Sai Sudharsan, have been kept as standbys due to their participation in the Emerging Asia Cup scheduled in Colombo from July 13 to 23.
Arjun’s remarkable abilities as a left-arm fast medium bowler and a hard-hitting lower-order batsman secured his position in the squad. His recent debut for the Mumbai Indians in the prestigious Indian Premier League further highlights his promising talent. In fact, Arjun’s prowess on the field has also earned him a call-up from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the upcoming Emerging All-rounders’ camp in August.
As part of the South Zone’s pace attack, Arjun Tendulkar joins forces with Vidwath Kaverappa, Vyshak Vijaykumar, and V Koushik, who form the formidable opening bowling duo from Karnataka.
