(Cricket News) Star Australia batsman Travis Head was recently diagnosed with COVID-19. Head was diagnosed with a viral infection following the first Test match against the West Indies and is currently recuperating from the same.
As a result of the diagnosis, Head’s inclusion in Australia’s line-up for the second Test at the Gabba in Brisbane is uncertain. Speaking of which, Australian captain Pat Cummins stated that Head is one of the players who is most likely to make it into Australia’s line-up for the second Test.
India Today reported Cummins as saying, “I think he is almost out of it, He will be fine, and he will train tonight, Obviously, even if he is still positive, he can still play, there might just be a few protocols.”
The Australian captain’s remarks suggested that, even though Head has not fully recovered from the infection, he may still play in the Brisbane Test.
It is important to note that Head will still need to adhere to all relevant protocols given the playing conditions, but Cummins’s statement is sufficiently confident about Head’s inclusion straight into the playing XI of the match.
